This full race sure was devastating, but without the Dale Earnhardt tragedy this is actually one of THE BEST races EVER in the entire history of the Daytona 500. It's the roof spoiler and lipped rear spoiler package that made the racing so exciting.

2001 was a sad year for Dale’s passing and we all know that on September 11th worst was to follow.

We just had no idea that Dale's crash way worse worse than it looked. May the Lord rest his soul.

This is the race where Dale Earnhardt crashed into the wall before the checkered flag and suffered a fatal skull fracture. It shattered my heart into one million pieces.

1:39:10 21 years later, Frankie Muniz would make his ARCA debut driving for Fast Track Racing, then the following year in 2023, drove full time for Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA Menards Series. Now he is racing for Team Reaume for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Poor Michael.  He went from on top of the world to the pits of hell. I just couldn't imagine the roller coaster he was on.

I love how much the cars bounce around in the turns.
