Lead developer on Gadgets And Gizmos here, just want to clean a few things up.
- The Sable Contraption Controller isn't great, I'm planning on removing it, it was added as an intermediary before drive-by-sable did it cleanly.
- The Advanced Contraption Controller is a beast that can pretty much do anything and control everything, I know a few people are working on tutorials for it.
- The ship control module you placed is designed to have the Advanced Controller sit on top of it which enables auto-pilot using seated entities, or wiring up SCM control nodes for manual control with stabilization.
- The Claw block is less intuitive than the base aeronautics sticker, but the claw was more meant to be a "fun" block, giving it less than 15 signal strength gives it a random chance to drop the held sub-level, like rigged claw machines.


I'm actually working on proper and integrated support with the 'Flight Control" so it works properly with the ship couplers, contraption controllers, and everything else added in Gadgets and Gizmos.

The reason the gadgets and gizmos advanced contraption controller wasn't doing anything was because you didn't connect the execute signals (the little white diamonds at the very top of each node) I had the same issue when I first used it

this will make season 2 so much more interesting can't wait

I hope you guys learned your lesson and use Chunky this time, for something like Aeronautics vanilla rendering distance doesn't cut it, you need to preload a lot of the world so that everything runs smoothly, while Horizons added something similar to itself, Voxy doesn't have that as far as I remember.

15:53 those are "Proportional Gain" K(p), "Integral Gain" K(i), and "Derivative Gain" K(d). I assume that means it's a PID controller, which means the math is complicated. They're used in stuff like cruise control or for controlling nuclear reactors.

For P gain, imagine you've got cruise control set to 70 (set point/desired value) but it's only going 65 ("process variable" or actual value). This means it has an "error value" of -5, so it will add 5 to your input to try and bring the actual value in line with the desired value.

K(i) takes the error value from K(p) over time to make adjustments. So for example, maybe the error value was -5 for a minute, so it K(p) increased the input by 5. But K(i) sees that over time, error value is still gradually increasing - maybe you're going up a really big hill? K(i) sees the increase over time and compensates.

K(d) takes the other two and is like "okay, if this is the error value and here's the error has changed over time, what can we expect it to look like in the future?"

This is kinda a quick and dirty explanation without getting into the weeds too much. Here's the equation, but like I said, the math is complicated:

u(t) = K_p e(t) + K_i integrate e(tau) dtau from 0 to t + K_d d(e(t))/dt

Flight control makes everything so easy that you might as well use the old balloons mod that allows you to just place the steering wheel and control everything perfectly in all 3 dimensions

Add Voxy server Side so you don't even need to get to places to see that far

I think there is a thing as too much customization, especially when it comes with so much UI
