This is perfect, I have heard soft naturals can be short but I feel like being short comes with its own set of styling techniques no matter what body type and those techniques aren't always included in kibbe's guidelines, this is like the perfect tailored approach for me. Thank you!

This is my body type.
I'm literally 5"2 and I've always felt in between SG and SN; like an SG with more strength and width or a more delicate SN.

I am 5'4" and it took me the longest time to understand that my body was a soft natural. We can also wear a dropped waist look with which mimics a peplum effect, Although ,it hides the waist the emphasis on the hip rather gives a relaxed, subtle definition of silhouette.. I

I think you just nailed it for me! At 66 years of age, I am now shorter than I was before (now 5" tall). But I have always had a more muscular arms and legs, and broad shoulders with a short torso, rectangle body. I always considered myself some type of Gamine with a strong Natural essence. My legs do appear a bit longer, because my hips and rib cage virtually touch each other. And, my hips are about 1" smaller than my bust.

You just addressed something I’ve been struggling with for so long and caused me so much confusion! I’ve been typed as a SN by two separate people and I’ve considered it myself, but I never was able to pull some stuff off that is recommended! Like i don’t have THAT much body to work with, so the shortening explains SO MUCH, thank you!!!!!!!! I truly believe you revolutionized something and I wish everyone knew about this

I have never fit into any Kibbe system so it was super fun to see a video addressing my body type! Amazing that many of the styles are things I have over time identified as suiting me, although I do love a long flowing skirt 😊

This is very interesting - the description sounds very much like my body. I have a taller Soft Natural friend and her clothes follow exactly those guidelines: opennes around the neck, softer shoulders, never a sharply defined waist, some breathing room. When I try on her clothes, I look frumpy and unkempt in them, like I'm getting out of focus. Since I'm a bit fleshier than your average Gamine, I was considering other options. I do have some tapering in my arms and legs, my face isn't very sharp. But I feel so comfortable in sharp Gamine clothes: defined shoulders, corsets, high waist, stiff fabric, people also tend to compliment me more. One can say I look exactly like a short SN, but I cannot wear SN lines.

Thank you Mylene, very very helpful. This is my body type. Finding what suits has been hit and miss. I knew I was SN but a lot of things were simply too much - fabric, length etc. This video is very on point, love it.

thanks for this. I never felt that I fit into SG or SN but I do believe this is where I sit. I have always identified with Hilary Duff’s shape…super short but not delicate
