The Difference Between a CVT and an Automatic Transmission
Let's start with the CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) or Variable Transmission.
This transmission changes its operation based on the power delivered by the engine. The transmission consists of two pulleys: the first is connected to the engine and is called the drive pulley, and the second is connected to the shaft and is called the drive pulley. Both pulleys work in tandem with acceleration and engine rpm. The CVT system operates as follows: When starting off, the drive pulley separates to move the belt closer to the axis of rotation, similar to a small gear. The follower pulley moves inward to move the belt closer to the edge of the pulley, similar to a large gear. As speed increases, the drive gear gradually increases in size, while the follower gear gradually decreases in size. This process is smooth and without any jerks or jerks. The operation is controlled by an electronic circuit, ensuring high precision.
Next, the AUTOMATIC transmission or gear-type automatic transmission.
In cars with automatic transmissions, when the car changes gears, We will feel the jolt of a gear shift.
This is because the transmission system shifts gears through the various gears, such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and finally the final gear. Because the gear ratios are quite far apart, the shifts in gear ratios are noticeable, whether they are higher or lower. This can also be observed by the engine's rpm. Although there have been significant improvements to this transmission system to reduce shift times, the smoothness is still not as good as that of a CVT.
However, it must be acknowledged that an automatic transmission enhances the driving experience and provides a more enjoyable and exciting experience than a CVT.

MT (Manual transmission)
AT (Automatic transmission)
CVT (Continuous variable transmission)
