I finally made it to Alice Springs. But almost as soon as I arrived, I knew something wasn't right.
After an incredible week at Mt Dare, I headed north through the Australian outback and into Alice Springs. But instead of continuing the adventure, I found myself struggling. Eventually, I made the decision to turn the van around and head home to Adelaide.
This video is a bit different. It's still van life, camping, long drives and plenty of outback Australia, but it's also an honest look at the side of solo travel that doesn't always make it onto YouTube.
Towards the end, I talk about where my head was at, why I decided to come home, and what I need to change before getting back out there again.
I'm not done with van life. I just need to work out how to do it in a way that's actually good for me.

There are so many people who suffer in silence with their mental health. Its like its ok to have a physical health problem, but if you struggle with mental health, then that's taboo. An illness or health problem is just as real regardless of whether it is mental or physical. Thank you for this video, thank you for articulating this so well and thank you for being you. Hope to see more videos soon.

I’ll be real… It took me 3 years to go full time. Life threw curveballs so I just did smaller trips to start with.
I couldn’t do it without a van I can stand up in and has an internal shower… it really makes a difference especially when it’s raining and I need to be stealth. It’s interesting because everyone does Van Life differently and has different setups. It’s a big life adjustment.
I am 5 months full time now, I am enjoying it although not every day is like what you see on YouTube. I actually like that you show the reality of it all not just the highlights.
