It’s fun watching this old Holden come together, keep up the great work. I like how you enlist Schroeder from the Peanuts Gang for the piano music in your film. He was a talented kid!
Looking good, mate. Lotta thinking went into that one....and a lot of metal too. Great that you have a few spares sitting around the yard handy as it certainly salves the wallet a fair hammering. Really like the work of those mates of yours who rolled the sill for you. Man, that was a bloody good fit - especially being in 3mm rather than 1.6. Sure - the upper roll is a bit more rounded than usual, but you're not looking for a concourse finish and 99% of blokes won't notice it and will just be happy to see another H-series rolling along and looking good. The thing is that you're putting steel back into the car where it wasn't, so a minor skim coat of filler over the top of some areas is not the end of the world and not going to fall out of a huge rot hole when she's going down the road. Sure - it's been 6 months of work, but you've got a day job and all the rest of it too, so for such a big job, I reckon you've knocked a heck of a hole in your to-do list. Looking forward to seeing progress as it happens - and I did like that you've started the story and got it this far, rather than seeing a bit here or a bit there in a 15 minute block, but whatever's easiest for you (and suits the algorithm) is fine with me. Great video - good editing, love the dry sense of humour and as mentioned, looking forward to the next installment. All the best from across the ditch ;)
same story as my Q. original owners was a old couple. he passed and she sold the car about 12yrs after he passed. my mate and his dad was gonna do a father son project and it sat again for 10 yrs. i bought it and got it on the rd for a couple years and off the rd for another 12yrs..fixed it again and drove it for another couple years because i was stuck at home and my late best mate was a ford guy but loved my Q..so in his memory of him i fixed it. Now it's parked for 5yrs because the the brakes need to be looked at. Depression and health issues doesn't help combined with broke and No friends or family to help. it's just rotting away with a gemini in my yard..my two favourite cars and i can't even drive them or fix them with simple things. lol
Big thanks V8 Jake
