I thought this was the most confusing luxury palette of 2026... until I finally understood what Charlotte Tilbury was trying to do.
The new Hollywood Flawless Light Tricks Eye Palette completely puzzled me at first. Was it warm? Cool? Why was there a blue next to an olive green? And why did the shimmers feel so much softer than Pat McGrath or Danessa Myricks?
Then, as I created three different looks, everything clicked.
I don't think this palette is built around colour at all—I think it's built around light. Inspired by old Hollywood lighting techniques, it's designed to create soft, flattering dimension rather than high-impact metallic drama.
In this video I share:
Three wearable looks on 50+ eyes
Why the colour story finally made sense to me
Whether the softer pigmentationand subtle shimmers are actually an advantage on mature lids
Hoe it compares to other luxury palettes
If you're over 50 and wondering whether this palette is worth the investment, I hope this helps you decide.
I'd love to know in the comments: Did you understand Charlotte's "Light Tricks" concept straight away, or did it confuse you too? And which of the three looks would you actually wear?
