Tonight, we turn away from the mutants and toward the people who feared them.

This is the long, calm history of the X-Men's mutant hunters in the main Marvel comics continuity: the senators and preachers, the secret armies and government programs, and the machines and organizations that tried to end mutantkind across more than sixty years of stories.

We follow Senator Robert Kelly and the push for mutant registration, Reverend William Stryker and the Purifiers of God Loves, Man Kills, the time-lost Sentinel Nimrod, Cameron Hodge and the Right, the island nation of Genosha, Graydon Creed and the Friends of Humanity, Bastion and Operation: Zero Tolerance, the Purifiers' return after M-Day, Messiah Complex, Second Coming, and finally Orchis and the fall of Krakoa.

Alternate futures such as Days of Future Past and the possible futures of Powers of X are clearly identified throughout.

Settle in, dim the lights, and let the story carry you to sleep.

Deep comic book stories, told slowly enough to fall asleep to.
