Baja Bandit Pneumatic Tire Upgrade – Does It Give You a Smoother Ride?

Chris tests pneumatic tires on the Pride Baja Bandit outdoor mobility scooter. The Baja Bandit comes standard with solid tires that never go flat, but they can give a rougher ride.
We compare the solid tires against pneumatic tires installed on the factory rims. First, we run a water-bottle splash test on the solid tires to show the vibration. Then we install the pneumatics, inflate to 25 PSI for one ride test, and drop to 15 PSI for a second test.

Pneumatics deliver a smoother ride. 15 PSI is even softer than 25 PSI, but running that low has trade-offs we discuss in the video.

So I must say that this might be my favorite video you’ve ever done the bandit is one of my favorite scooters especially since the new upgrade with ambidextrous wig wag control and now air filled tires Wow and great pit crew almost as good as my Pursuit 2. Music cool too

I had foam infill tyres on my Galaxy 2. They were OK, but changed to pneumatic ones and it's noticeably smoother. And to help with punctures I put Oko tyre sealant in, the same stuff the Moto X guys use. No problems so far. But then I'm an ex mountain biker, and I went 8 years without problems using it.

Great and informative video 👍 Greetings from the UK, where I have a 2026 Bandit. Over here we can specify whether to have solid or pneumatic tyres (tires 😁). I went for solids, but found the ride quality way too harsh. This was exacerbated by having a solid (unsprung) seat post - at 6'4" the suspension seat post is about three inches too low for me. I wasn't given the option to change tyres and inner tubes, just the whole wheel assembly, at a cost of $263 (£195). So I now have a full set of four solid tyres, which won't be used 🤷‍♂ Couldn't agree more with you though - changing to air inflated tyres makes the Bandit so much better 👍 Now if only Pride would produce a taller suspension seat post option for us taller chaps 🙄
