The Nagasaki Kunchi, the autumn festival of Suwa Shrine in Nagasaki City, concluded on the 9th with its "Later Day" performance, where each dance district poured their heart and soul into their dedication dances and parades through the streets.

One of the dance districts was Kamimachi Kokkodesho.

On the final day, the 9th, their powerful voices and spirited performance enlivened the venue.

As they chanted "Kokkodesho," they threw the float, and when it was caught with one hand, the crowd erupted in loud applause and cheers.

After the dedication at the temporary shrine, the bearers praised each other, some with tears in their eyes.

Kamimachi float bearer, Shinichiro Tagawa (39)
"Last time at the final stop at the temporary shrine, things went awry (it didn't go well), so I wanted to pick up what I'd left behind 10 years ago, but the temporary shrine is quite difficult."
"I think I'll save this revenge for another 7 years from now."

On the 9th, each dance district will also perform "garden visits," going to businesses and homes that have supported them throughout the year to share good fortune.

In the Ise-machi area of Nagasaki City, Imakago-machi performed their "main dance."

The dancers' graceful performance captivated the audience.

Imakago-machi visited approximately 3,000 houses in two groups over the three days of the Kunchi festival.

Some dance districts are still continuing their "garden visits," and after this, they will perform their final dances in their respective districts to bring the three-day Kunchi festival to a close.
