This was like the inspiration between blackops 2 and infinite warfare

If Future Warfare came out, it'd be treated no different than the other COD games from 2013-2017. Hated, nitpicked, and dragged through the mud, and then when the next CoD comes out, they flock back to it and call it an underrated masterpiece that should have gotten a second chance. Like they did with Ghosts. And AW. And IW.

I miss those old cut scenes, WAW did it the best imo

The Future Warfare or NX1 is the template for COD:Ghosts,Advanced Warfare,Infinite Warfare especially some names the maps and the technology within the game

This game was way ahead of its time.

Activision could make an old-style CoD at least once in 4 years, maybe, I imagine they'd be less laborious to produce. Imagine if we had this game as extra content, like an "OG CoD" even if it was just a campaign... I really wish this game existed, it seems so much more attractive than the CoD content we have today.

The modern warfare era missions in this game were just testing missions for the team, to have an understanding about the engine and stuff. This was confirmed by an ex dev under a livestream on Youtube

I’ve been wondering what it’s story would’ve been because the gameplay seems to shift between space and border fights

So basically this game and Black Ops 2 was the closest thing we had to Chinese as antagonists in COD games.

The wacky old stories are peak CoD, in my opinion.
I miss them.

Some additional info to the story:

Hit Hard at Home would've continued with a tank segment, the one which the plane sends flying and it lands on the highway.
Descent has the voicelines in the files implying Keene was not the traitor and it's settled.
Winter Anvil is a mission happening before Moonbase Assault because the mission is about stopping a nuke from being launched, you play as Walker, you save a guy named Jenkins in the mission, your objective is to destroy the rockets/nukes that will most likely nuke the Moonbase we see in the Moonbase assault mission, but stopping the nuke fails for the good guys aka Walker, Baker, Keene, Lockwood, and also a guy named Williams. The mission ends in a helicopter escape.

At 10:45 that Chicken has dirt on KFC and needed rescue.

cant believe we were robbed of this

I like the multiplayer, I really like the guns and the setting and extinction mode as well as some of the ideas they had in ghosts' campaign such as the space rods the federation and the one or two missions where you control riley. but the overall story focusing on some guy ex-ghost gone bad guy named rorke or whatever was a bad idea and definitely hurt the game a lot

Now I wanna see this… the moon level looks amazing

It's interesting to see how the setpieces were designed so they could just... fill in the bad guys later. They could be some militia, or an actual hostile military, but it doesn't really matter to the mission itself because the wider narrative context is something that would be filled in later.

It makes me really appreciate campaigns like Infinite Warfare where it feels like they had the story first and then built the missions to support it, unlike the other way around.

I absolutely loved everything about this game and genuinely want a sequel

11:04 well it's obviously a Macguffin

Hey its me at 11:11, Hey Inkslasher, The game is very complete but you relied on random youtube video's and 99% of lore is missing, would be happy to help you make a "full completed story" video

this is look like prequel to Infinite Warfare. There are story about Secession Wars that took place 30 years prior to the events of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
If only Infinite Warfare take some loosely based from Gundam: Origin and Killzone mix story
