Fun fact Rich the employe of the month isn’t dead in canon and is just somewhere doing side quests (also he won that recognition by staying in the job for an entire month)
20:47 so to explain this, tricky told Hank to get up and Hank said no because at this point he genuinely just wants to stay dead, Hank is forcibly revived by tricky, which is why he says knock it off
I like to imagine that you're the auditor or another agent just watching the cameras as Hank traverse the area that he's thrown in, yelling at his agents to do better
The thing in Tricky’s brain is the improbability drive, it’s why reality isn’t working right. So Jebas destroyed it but it was kinda too late, the reason why Hank doesn’t die is because legit his universe doesn’t want him to. It thrives on carnage.
Almost all this stuff I’m gonna say is stuff you can learn about, and more, from Madness: Project Nexus, the official Madness Combat game on Steam.
Nevada - This isn’t a state, or a country, maybe it’s a continent. - Nevada is the world. “Somewhere” is the name of a region. - The things born of Nevada aren’t made biologically. Not that they’re robots, either… - Most just call them Grunts. Others call them “Nevadeans.”
Hank J. Wimbleton - An average joe, at first. The Protagonist, for better or worse. - Has the personality of a bullet. He’s just as flexible. - Doesn’t have an allegiance, he’s just an enemy of whoever is in his trajectory. - They care about two things: Completing an objective, and thrills.
As far as Nevada is concerned, Hank is a nobody. To some others, however…
Jebus (Dr. Christoff, Jebediah) - That Halo grants him powers. It can store objects, delete enemies (literally, soul and all), can create Zeds, regenerate the user, and grants telekinesis. Among other unknown traits… - He’s qualified to be a scientist. Let’s say he quit his job on some very bad terms… - A little self-important and full of himself (as you’ve gotten from his dialogue, and self-given title of “Savior”…)
Sometime after MC1, Christoff was offered a position of status in another organization of sorts. It had a tyrant with an ego even bigger than Jeb’s as the head. After he “quit his job,” Christoff allied with the Sheriff and his crew, someone who had a bounty on his head. Since then, he became the nemesis of Hank, allying with the Auditor and the AAHW after some events, before rebelling against both. The rest of him is history.
Tricky the Clown - Believe it or not, the smartest mind in Nevada. Way too busy being insane. - A whimsical, and viciously sadistic personality. Even before “The Clown Engages.” - Just so happens that Hank becomes his favorite to torment. - The main reason you can’t kill the Clown is a paradox; Tricky’s existence doesn’t make sense, so hell rejects him. - The “Portable Improbability Drive” (the thing in his noggin) just gives him extra powers. Though it seems he can control it much better than the Sheriff could control the Drive he activated in MC3. - What allegiance?
He actually shared a workplace with Christoff once, but he also left his job on Christoff’s side. He tagged with Christoff and Sheriff as a mercenary, both the profession and his looks being inspired by his favorite gameshow, “Slaughter Time.”
Tricky is a dangerously self-motivated individual, now made volatile due to a cocktail of whatever nonsense he has - dude rose from hell, became a zombie, is tied to a reality-warping device, and he was insane before MC2. There is a Youtube video that has his in-game battle quotes uploaded if you wanna know what he sounds like.
Agency Against Hank Wimbleton(AAHW) - Fodder. Normally they have weapons. - They’re militarized fanatics who want nothing more than to put a bullet through Hank. They train specifically to be an obstacle to him. - Various propaganda posters show you hints of whatever brainwashing the recruits go through… - Any who aren’t recruits are made from cloning vats. The Auditor who bought said vats never acquired the combat training that came with the clones, - So they opt out for artificial skill growths, like the Accelerated Training Programs to produce “ATP Units” (the Yellow Ones), other means (such as that one time they got “Upgraded”), or the Magnification Chamber (which is how Hank got transformed into a Half-MAG)
- Their power structure goes more-or-less like this: Civilian < Grunts < Agents (Shades) < Engineers (Masks, smarter) / Soldats (One-Eye’s, faster) < “Bullies” (You’ll see them soon) < MAG Agents (the HUGE dudes) < The Auditor.
- The AAHW will not surrender to any foes. They will not stop until Hank isn’t just dead, but seized entirely.
Sanford and Deimos - Sanford is the stronger guy with the lip and meat hook. - Deimos is the funnier guy who smokes sometimes. - Two dudes who work for a mysterious group, “Status Quo.” As far as they’re concerned; they shoot bad guys. - Sanford is the demolitions expert, the serious one who knows what his orders are. - Deimos, meanwhile, is the designated driver, computer dude, and jokester. If you sent him to hell, he’ll have his own short series of adventures that take place between Madness Combat 10 and 11. - In Nevada, smoking is a telltale sign of someone who is about to get destroyed. You can see for yourself with other rando’s who held cigarettes in the series so far. - Not knowing this, Deimos is an avid smoker. Notice how many times he almost gets pwned, be it flashbangs, bullets, buildings…
Status Quo - Sanford and Deimos aren’t the only hands on deck. They’ve got many. - The de-facto leader is called Doc. I think you’ll know him if you see them. - So far, Doc only appears in three episodes. One of them is called “DISSENTER.” - You get to know him a lot better in Project Nexus…
The Auditor - The current antagonist. - Founder of the AAHW. - Shapeshifter. A living pocket dimension. Had access to an Improbability Drive. - With the Halo, they could directly enhance units. Possibly enhances his own capability.
- Nevada does have a pantheon, in a sense. The Auditor is one of those Higher Powers. - To make this a little more wack, this isn’t just a “God” that the protagonists are fighting,
In Nevada, there are 4 Employers. Each exists because of the need for something.
We know their names. We don’t know why they are…except for “Stygian,” the oldest, who exists because the concept of death was needed.
So, the current antagonist is a personified concept of Nevada.
What I wanna know is how Status Quo intends to defeat something like that.
- Also they’re a bit of a dummy. Auditor can dodge bullets with no effort, but putting himself on the level of mortals was ill advised in the first place. You’ll see why.
The Other Place - some call it “hell.” - Dead things go here. Except for Zeds. They can’t. - Sometimes, dead things come back… - Like Hank, for instance. They can bring himself out, and we don’t know why or how.
Cool detail that's easily missed, Tricky randomly is wearing Jebus' head in a prior episode, screaming about "WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK?!". Then we see Jebus later, without his head, picking up his halo, and only then does his head get properly restored. We then see Auditor put on the halo, and it immediately adapts to his color and power. Tricky was trying to use Jebus' powers, but didn't catch on that the powers were from the halo, not from Jeb's head.
It's funny how you scream out "HE'S DEAD?! No one dies in these" while literal corpse of previous protagonist lying in the revival chamber next to Deimos and Jebus' corpse was just shown to us not few minutes before. And of course Hank dying literally every other episode.
Names: The dude with the mouth and durag is Sanford, and his friend, the guy with the hat, is Deimos (fun fact: Deimos can produce fire from his thumb, it’s why he smokes so much), the black dudes name is The Auditor, The giant agent is called Torture, I’m sure you can guess why
The guy you refer to as "Jesus" is actually called "Jebus" with a b, because his real name is Jebediah Christoff, and the halo he has is something he stole from when he was a scientist, the clown, who's name is "Tricky", was also a scientist who worked with Jebus, also, the device you saw in tricky's head when he was in that fire form, was the improbability drive, the sheriff activated it in episode 3, and it makes the improbable happen, thats why all this crazy stuff is going on
Tbh the closest thing to a ''good guy'' in Madness is Jebus, but even he's just a delusional maniac with powers and a ginormous messiah complex. Then again, he's chill asf if you're just a regular person, so not that bad when compared to Hank ''Crashout'' Wimbleton.
If you want to know why agents miss a lot its bc theyre either panicking, grunts (civilians) or having their bullets dodged which happens a lot, its just really subtle due to the animation quality
so there are these things called "Improbability devices" which can alter reality based on how strong they are, the shadow red eye guy(Auditor) has one of them, and so does tricky(the clown dude) which he used to turn himself into that fire monster, now when hank shot tricky in the head at 22:55 it was revealed that tricky kept the improbability device in his skull, those guys at 25:43 were trying to fix tricky's damaged improbability device by taking it out of his skull, and it resulted in fire monster tricky into becoming human sized at 25:33 and when Jebus(yes that is his name) shot the device at 26:26 tricky turned back to normal
