I enjoy spending money in beauty and hair salons but they have to be really clean, smell nice and be up with the latest technologies and treatments.

The decor and the mess is a big turn off.
It was stuck in the past with out of date treatments, nail colours and techniques.

Every time I watch one of these I think "there is now way this will interest me". I have never set foot in a beauty salon; yet, somehow, I become engrossed in the characters and willed for their success. I must admit my brain hurt at the start, I couldn't understand how anyone can not know how much money (if any) they are making from selling a service.

It helped that in this episode I liked all the characters. What a great achievement to get the front cover of the Hair magazine as well. I hope they all had great success.

Binge watching these shows back to back. I really love the wise advice Alex is able to give hapless or unlucky business owners in a firm but sympathetic way. It's nice to see people put on a path to better success and leaving their feelings of hopelessness behind.

Hair salons that do not further their training are immediately recognisable. I steer right away from those establishments…it’s comparable to one source information only.

Reading the comments - it seems that the business was sold a few years after this episode was completed, so I guess the family didn't keep up the momentum but, Didi was always going to be a dead weight!
