Every year, millions of end-of-life tires are discarded across America. Instead of being left in stockpiles or sent to landfills, many of these tires enter recycling and reclamation markets, where they can be transformed into useful materials and products. In the Rubber-Modified Asphalt market alone, about 165,000 tons of end-of-life tires have been consumed since 2021.

After collection, the tires go through a series of processing stages, including shredding, size reduction and separation of rubber, steel and fiber.

The recovered rubber can then be processed into ground tire rubber and used in rubber-modified asphalt for roads and highways, as well as automotive parts, industrial products, sports surfaces and other applications.

In this video, we explore the journey of end-of-life tires through America's recycling industry, from discarded tires to recovered materials and finished products.
