Wow, a full length video in 1080p, we got lucky!  This fan is a rare find, well done, thank you!

Goodness, the quality of century old tech!

never seen such a motor type like that before, i love it though specially when the cotton coat is still good in shape.

You find the most amazing hidden gems. That fan will look phenomenal under your excellent care.

I'm really enjoying the architecture of this motor and the restoration of it.

goddamn thats beautiful, im excited for da restoration

There is a beauty to that utility. I just love the way that looks.

That is one beautiful piece of electromotovated machinery:)

Also, what an amazing motor. That thing is a horse!

If your compressor has been dying for 10 years it may outlive all of us.  Lol.  That is quite an impressive motor.  A novice, I never knew about such a design.  It seems that it would require a lot of maintenance with the brushes always wearing down.

more fans! woohoo! I got a really spiffy hd-52 Holophane light I'm playing with. Like a miniature streetlight style sconce. I'm probably way too excited about it but I love this kind of stuff!
Great video as always! Thank you!

Nice to see another repulsion start motor in action, never seen a 6-pole before.

Another video! I really enjoy them...

That is quite the motor for a fan like that- I have seen somewhat larger ones used in 1920s-30s woodworking equipment.  As for the lumber, you just cannot get that anymore- all the good, dense wood went away in the 1970s as we just about eliminated all of it building houses, and to even get stuff that thick you have to have it custom milled.  That's one of the reasons I really like old houses.

Awesome little motor!

Good ole friction tape…don’t ya love it!!!

Everything about that unit is beautiful,,,,  I can't wait to hear it run after it's had a big bunch of Dave put on it !!     lol

Seems wild that a motor that big would only be rated for 1/4 HP., but then I have to remember that HP is a function of torque AND RPM, so about three times the torque of the average mid 20th century household furnace blower motor...

I want to be envious of these gigantic box fans, but I quickly remember the little one my grandfather made a long time ago that's out in the garage that has a bullet-shaped GE motor on it that I use from time to time. 😀👍

Nice work with the air chisel.

It is nice to see it has not been painted for a good while,  looking at those brushes I would say only one set were doing work so that would account for the low starting torque.
