Sometime between 1970 and 1974, I and the wife were stationed at RAF Bentwaters. Wife and I rented a bungalow on a farm in Carlton nr Saxmundham. (still remember our telephone number, Saxmundham 2708, Hah!) One evening we invited another USAF military family over for a few drinks and a card game or two. Somehow we discovered a store which sold scrumpi by the imperial gallon for only 50p and we could return for refills of the same jug. Ohhhh, that was good stuff. I think we went through 3 jugs. Mind you, it only gave us a slight buzz, but it was a good buzz. Never forgot it. I just recently remembered what the stuff was called and here I am. Hmmmm.... I just might have to brew some up! Cheeers!

I make this quite often. I use 4 litres  of Aldi Apple juice, 550grms of suger and Youngs wine yeast/nutrient. SG is 1.085 and FG is 0.995. Comes out around 12%. It is quite drinkable Hic! Hic!

Read the tittle while thinking about my apple mead/cider i need to bottle up thats sitting at 20% and he said strong in the title! Made me laugh. I make wine like my grandfather used to like in the old days Roman/ Gladiator wine. It starts like rocket fuel but it mellows out lol.😂

Great video. I used to buy bruised fruit and cook it down with sugar and do similar. Dried raisins are good too.
