Rep. Yoo Young-ha of the People Power Party, a close aide to former President Park Geun-hye, took a direct shot at the movie Assassin(s) on social media on the 1st, fiercely criticizing it by stating, "They have touched a raw nerve and crossed a line that should not have been crossed."

Rep. Yoo remarked, "As the movie Assassin(s) faces a backlash from public opinion, the director is quietly backing out." He added, "It might actually serve as noise marketing and lead to a temporary box office success, so enjoy it while you can. However, you have provoked the wrong person."

He further claimed, "Contrary to your intentions, the whole world has come to know that the shooting of First Lady Yuk Young-soo was a crime committed by a Chongryon-affiliated agent acting on orders from the North Korean regime." He asserted, "You have looked down on the world—no, on our people—too lightly." He concluded by stating, "I will soon release evidence to show the whole world just how preposterous your cunning lies are."

Earlier, Director Hur Jin-ho of Assassination(s) stated on a YouTube channel yesterday that the cast and crew worked incredibly hard but are having a very hard time due to the allegations of historical distortion, reiterating that there was no intention to distort history.
