11:33 "boat" is a meme on his channel. during one of his first popular videos where he played just cause 3 and speedrun it he said boat in a funny way. his community found it so funny that no matter what he did people would spam boat in his chat and in comments he played into it for a while but it became so annoying he has since banned the word on his channel.

Saba knows how to play every game without a chest

"Could've just gone down the other way"

There... there is no other way... that... that was THE problem...

he said BOAT in a really funny way like 4 years ago and the joke will never die

4:45 The way mob spawning works is that it starts looking for a valid place to spawn a mob at the lowest level of the world.  Since it starts at the bottom, if your spawning platform is low down the game has to scan fewer layers of all invalid tiles before finding a valid tile to spawn a mob on.

Of all the reactions to this video, I think you are the first one I've seen to recognize the Club Penguin dance he is doing to summon rain.

6:35 "could have just used the other method" there is no other method, in order to go down like he needed to you either need to use the method he did, or use a water bucket

31:00 my favorite way that youtubers get around that lava problem is by making the stronghold portal room spawn still instead of just the portal itself. The portal room has lava

12:41 Witches can drop glowstone dust. Default drop chance is 17.87% so he likely has a lot. He'll also have sugar and gunpowder. Each have the same drop chance.

12:26 witch’s drop glowstone dust which can be crafted into glowstone blocks

12:41 glowstone dust drops from witches

I love Martin's sort-of-justified hatred for the word "boat." He goes as far as using "Buoyancy-Operated Aquatic Transport" instead in one video where he had to mention one to explain what was going on.

Also, Martin's videos are usually summed up as "if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong. If it can't, it still will go wrong."

12:31 he got the glowstone from witches from his mob farm. they drop sticks and potion items

12:31 Glowstone powder is dropped by witches.

6:08 unfortunately no, the only way to place a block directly beneath another with no supporting walls is with quality of life mods or directly facing the bottom of the block

Think of it this way: a cube has 6 sides 1 is the top 6 is the bottom, in Minecraft to place a block on a side of the cube you must have a line of sight of said side, trapdoors function the same way. Mart here has line of sight for 1-5 sides but not 6.

So martin places two blocks side by side, then places a trapdoor on the bottom of the right block and a trapdoor on the top of the left. Then he flips the left trapdoor down, stands just in-between the two trapdoors and flips the left one up, due to the fact that trapdoors take up less physical space than a half slab the player is forced into a "prone" position. Trapdoors take up a full block in code, all blocks do it's why of you place sand directly on top of a torch it floats, while Mart is prone he can look at side 6 of the trapdoor and place a block. And because the area where the trapdoor is is already taken by the trapdoor itself the game places the block directly below the trapdoor, thus decending a single block.

I hope this made sense to you lol

This is the second part to "I try to beat hardcore minecraft with my friends" video that Martin put out, most people confuse this lmao...

0:10 so... she messed up the time line as well huh?

12:30 there are a couple of ways to get glowstone without going to the nether. Wandering traders, witches and villagers. So no he aint cheating just torturing himself lol

Witchs from the mob farm drop glowstone dust which you can make into glowstone blocks.

16:37 Witches drop glowstone, redstone and sugar.
