Katie was having weird and subtle symptoms when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. It started with weakness in her arm and tingling in her fingers. She never associated her symptoms to a brain tumor because she never had seizures or headaches (two of the most common symptoms of brain tumors).

After advocating for herself, she got a referral to a neurologist who discovered a golf ball-sized tumor in her brain. A failed craniotomy revealed the tumor was an astrocytoma (Grade 4 glioblastoma), and it was inoperable. Her care team turned to chemotherapy and radiation, and one year later, Katie had a successful craniotomy.

Thank you, Katie, for sharing your story to help others.
