This story started on ABC Family, moved to The CW, and then switched lanes to Lifetime...

I laughed so hard when Sal winked. "They don't know yet."

What Peter failed to understand is the iconic with great power comes great responsibility speech Uncle Ben gave was actually a sex talk and he was referring to the importance of condoms. 😂

Aunt May: I never did tell you what happened to your mother.

Peter Parker: What else is there to say? She died in a plane crash with dad.

Aunt May: No... I am your mother.

Peter Parker: No... No... That's not true. That's impossible!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, when the book is garbage or Sal hates it, its gonna be a LEGENDARILY hilarious episode.

The moment Sal whips out that cover, those faces are the best thing ever

Another thing to note: May's life has serious parallells to MJ's. Viewed as promiscuous, abusive dad, shirks responsibilities for a long time until growing into being responsible... I've spent a decade and a half avoiding this book because the more I learn, the creepier it sounds with its implications for Peter and aunt May.

Kudos to Sal for being able to bury the lede for the entirety of this episode. Seeing Ben & Ethan get so close to figuring it out and whiffing it was hilarious.

I'm surprised they didn't clock the "Ben"-"May" "Richard"-"Mary" connection.

@whiskeystone6188 6 years ago

Should be noted that “Trouble” was a euphemism for teenage pregnancies back then, so despite everything else, they didn’t bury the lede.

30:34 Ah man, that wink was great.

I had a moment like 15 minutes in, when Ben and May and Richard and Mary clicked. Dear god.

20:26 Ben used the right formula, but got the wrong answer...

Someone needs to ask Mark Millar, if May gave birth to Peter at 17 why the heck is she 80 when he’s 15?? Is she really in her 40’s? Is she a closet alcoholic and looks 40 YEARS older?

@toqkaizogou1636 5 years ago

I think Linkara put it best saying that the Bucky Barnes cameo in the last issue was Marvel basically saying "WE'RE SORRY! IT'S NOT CANON!". Like they originally were going to make it canon to 616, but then in the last couple of issues realised what a mistake they were making, so quickly popped in this undeniable contradiction just so they could say it wasn't.
