I hope you watch Peacemaker. It’s funny as hell and Peacemaker is a surprisingly deep character.

I can't believe she didn't recognize Mary Poppins y'all.

5:20 It's called the "suicide squad" because every one of them are expendable. They're not heroes; they're criminals, and they get sent on "suicide" missions because nobody cares if they die, as long as the mission gets completed.

"So did she break up with the joker?"

well there's a whole movie about it called Birds of Prey!
while a lot of people were not a fan of it
i did personally love it myself

If you liked this, you should definitely watch Peacemaker. Not too many episodes and Cena really comes into his own.

Creature 👏 Commandos 👏

Peacemaker incoming? I’d love to see you react to that 😁

I also am supporting a Peacemaker watch and Creature Commandos as well. Because without giving any spoilers, just seeing Weasel now has me tearing up

Peacemaker is good show, both Seasons. Amazing soundtrack.

Staro was the first super villain the Justice League fought in the comics.

58:31 Everything in Invincible draws inspiration from Marvel and DC. It uses a lot of character templates and storylines from pre-existing Marvel and DC characters, but puts its own spin on them. So you'll notice A LOT of similarities between Invincible and Marvel and DC because the series takes inspiration from both.

Invincible himself is basically a mix of Superboy, Spider-Man, and Nightwing. Nightwing being Dick Grayson, the first Robin who eventually becomes Nightwing. Invincible's relationship with Oliver (basically a Robin) is similar to the relationship between Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne. Dick Grayson even becomes Batman for a while with Damian as his Robin, and both develop a kind of older-brother/younger-brother relationship, much like Mark and Oliver. Not to mention that Mark Grayson shares the same surname as Dick Grayson.

Nathan Fillion was TDK

The director and writer of this movie later made the SUPERMAN movie btw.

The doctor who injects the explosive into Savant's head at the beginning of the movie is John Ostrander who wrote the Suicide Squad comic in the '80s that this movie (and the previous movie) pulls a lot of characters and concepts from. Most notably, he co-created Amanda Waller.

FWI: Starro The Conqueror is the first ever villain the Justice League ever fought. A bit unfortunate we'll never see them fight him.

14:03 thats James Gunn's Brother, He typically has a side role in movies his brother directs, Ie guardians, etc

I think the "Dirty Little Secrets" elevator button is another situation like the captions for chapters (or Harleyvision, PolkaDotVision, etc) where the camera isn't necessarily showing us what's literally happening in front of it, but communicating the essence through warping reality. Like the camera itself being an unreliable narrator

"Dirty Little Secrets" is just a chapter title. It's not actually on the button.

Peacemaker is kind of Deadpool filtered through Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.  It's an insane and fun watch with weirdly good politics in ways that the story style wouldn't immediately suggest.

One of the best superhero films, and there wasn't a single superhero in it.
