Bro side decking in the middle of duel 💀

This guy wanted to play the all the Diabellestar lore cards in his deck and he damn sure did play them.

New slop just dropped!
And it’s only 40-cards?! How is this even real? 😨

OSS: "I'm here to help any deck that plays level 1 fire monsters!"

Altergeist Peritrator enters the chat

the snake eye ash wasn't even in their deck until josh willed it into existence, the opponent is just as surprised

Me when I'm playing Magikey: Oh, it's Magikey, you can play the game- wait, that's a LIGHT Fiend?! There's Primite too?! TENYI TO SEARCH A FIELD SPELL?!?!

Josh is getting used to competitive play, and encountering bozos playing bad makes him lost ten braincells.

8 one-of starters... "a little bit of this and a little bit of that" ahh deck

I already watched the full vod but now im getting multiple of those 20 games recommended seperately 💀💀

Well Altergeist got the Lv1 Fire, 2 Light Spellcasters, and Lv6 Synchro which is a free cost for deception. I'm in.

Lmao! NO WAY!! I’ve played Altergiest Azamina too! I NEVER thought I’d see evidence of someone else who also went out of their way to try it though!! Wow!

He got that deck to master 1 some how!! 😮😮😮 that's skill

Oh, I actually played around with something like this a while ago!
Modern Altergeist can establish an unbelievable number of interruptions if it gets set up... but the problem is getting set up in the first place. Meluseek is the only true 1-card combo in the deck. Multifaker needs a Trap card, Peritrator needs another Altergeist in hand AND for you not to draw Revitalization, and Marionetter needs another Altergeist AND for you not to draw Haunted Rock. Sure, you can make all this happen fairly consistently with a 40-card deck, but even in a best case scenario that leaves you with very few hand traps.
The theory behind this is: Diabellstar gets you into Level 1 FIRE monsters (Peritrator), and White Forest gets you into LIGHT Spellcaster/Tuners (Malwisp). So here you have other starters - that work well with each other, too! - to get you into your Altergeist plays, as well as potentially other disruptions in the White Forest Synchros. You also have cards like Sinful Spoils of the White Forest which work great with Altergeist.
The problem is: it just doesn't work. If you draw Diabellstar, sure, you can reliably get to Peritrator... but you're less likely to have another Altergeist in hand because you've stuffed your deck with other cards. If you draw White Forest, sure, you can reliably get Malwisp to hand... but without another Altergeist in grave she just summons herself out and looks confused. If you get to your White Forest Synchros, sure, that's good... but you've likely committed your Normal Summon and shut down Multifaker. At that point you'd be better off just playing White Forest proper.
I'm not sure what the idea behind this decklist was specifically? Cutting down the one-card starters and adding more bloat with Azamina seems like the wrong direction to go. But then he is a lot higher on the ladder than I've ever been so maybe I'm missing something!

All this in a clean filthy 40 card list

"Gotta keep up with the meta somehow" head ahh 🥀

the schmidt playing the smith ...

Joshua Schmidt can officially never look at an Altergeist card being summoned against him the same way ever again

19:26 More like what didn't happen?
