I spent 4 nights exploring Samos in late May 2026, staying in Kokkari on the north coast and using it as a base to see as much of the island as possible.

In this travel vlog, I visit some of the best-known places on Samos, including Pythagoreio, Kokkari, Manolates, Karlovasi and Potami, as well as heading down to the south coast to explore Ormos Marathokampos, Kampos Marathokampos and Psili Ammos Beach.

Samos surprised me with its mix of green mountain scenery, traditional villages, relaxed seaside towns, beaches, harbours and ancient history. This video is a relaxed look at what it’s like to explore the island over a few days, with my honest first impressions along the way.

If you’re planning a trip to Samos, or just curious about whether it’s worth visiting, I hope this gives you a good feel for the island.

How nice to see this! What a coincidence: the day you arrived was actually our last day on Samos.
We also stayed in Kokkari and visited almost all the places you featured in this video. That made it a wonderful and nostalgic trip down memory lane for us.

Samos is so high up on my list, it seems to have it all - nature, history, authenticity - and can pair it up with Patmos!

Great video, as always! I went to Samos back in the 90s and also stayed in Kokkari, so was relieved to see it has not been over-developed and looks definitely worth a return visit in the next couple of years. Our big excursion then was a day trip on a ferry over to nearby Kusadasi in Turkey to visit the massive Epheseus archealogical site. Recommend that to anyone into Archealogical sites! 🙂

I’ve been returning to Samos, I’m there right now. My 8th visit in about 20 years.
There is something about this island that I love. It’s a pity you didn’t cover the mountain villages, they are lovely. Kastania and Platanos.

Hey nice video, you passed in front of my house when you were walking back from breakfast day one in kokkari. When the sun is out the beaches are wonderful. Kokkari is known for the food.

Kokkari is our place to be. Going there next week for the 5th time.
Appartment right on the beach.
Favorite restaurant (Samia ) and little supermarket 50 mtrs away
Athmosphere is great
And all the rest

Such a nice trip!
You really showed the difference between Ikaria and Samos.
Samos has an international airport. That's why it's a lot more touristy there. Ikaria doesn't have that.
It's funny to be able to see that in your travels.
