Our family of 6 from New Zealand has made it to Jakarta, Indonesia! 🇮🇩 After travelling through Bali, Malaysia and Thailand we’re continuing our Southeast Asia adventure and this time, we were on a mission to find one of Indonesia’s most famous dishes… AYAM PENYET!🍗🌶️

What started as a simple mission to find authentic Ayam Penyet in Jakarta turned into a proper family adventure 😂 We got lost… then lost again… and eventually our amazing taxi driver came to the rescue and helped us find a local spot to eat!

We finally discovered a wonderful local Indonesian restaurant and sat down to try authentic Indonesian food for the first time as a family. From the flavours and spice to the atmosphere and our very honest reactions, we’re sharing the REAL experience — no fancy travel filter, just our chaotic family doing what we love most: eating, exploring, getting lost and experiencing local culture! ❤️
