This is fabulous stuff, I anxiously await Part 2! I grew up in Northern VA and I had a group of friends with whom I played Blues and Rockabilly. We would follow Danny Gatton around with The Fat Boys, Roy Buchanan (who Danny called the best guitarist he ever saw), The Nighthawks, Tom Principato and learned while we worshipped at the altar, lol. Those cats always pointed us back to the masters, to the very root of the matter. DC really was a fountain of cool rockin' groove in those days and the Blues have always been and continue to be a mainstay of the local sound. BTW, Dave Elliott is no longer 400 lb and hasn't been for many years.
