Roselle is endemic to Africa. It has grown there for centuries. Some of the roselle sold in stores in the US is imported from Nigeria, but treated in Mexico. Its a very popular drink in west Africa, similar to the Caribbean.

I have several red roselle plants but I've never heard of the white. I will definitely add white to my garden next year. I'm in zone 8a.

My last year harvest is twice the size of yours.

Question please.

I am growing white. Roselle. I noticed that every time I watch a video with red Roselle the ends are opened on the calyx.

My white Roselle the ends are closed.

As I don't have red to compare them to, I don't know if it's just a difference in the plant?

Or do I need to wait until the white ones open at the top also before harvesting?

Thanks!
