O Ropeway was a ropeway located in Ehime Prefecture. It opened in 1964 (Showa 39), connecting a hotel to the summit station over a distance of 1,168 meters, with a round-trip fare of 1,000 yen and running every 30 minutes. Near the summit station, there were field athletic facilities and the "Kinseiden," a replica of Kinkakuji Temple.
The ropeway ceased operation in 2009 (Heisei 21), and while the base station building was converted into a warehouse, the summit station building was abandoned. "Kinseiden" was washed away in heavy rains in 2001 (Heisei 13), and the promenade has also been abandoned.
Most of the road leading from the base station toward the summit is closed to vehicular traffic, and alternative routes are in poor condition due to falling rocks, making approaching by vehicle dangerous.
