Nicely explained Bryan. Just my opinion but when recommendations are based on incentives, the end consumer/investor gets the short end of the stick. And why so many people (globally) have a mistrust of most FA's

Thanks. That was explained very well. Im just sorry i was never made aware of benefits of TFSA (compounding effect- hence start as early was possible when earning a salary) as well as disallowed contributions. Only learnt about these 2 things when im basically close to retirement..
Just one thing.. say your TFSA has grown to 3.5 million (to use ur eg), are u saying that for that full amount - withdrawing as income over time or taking out as lumpsum to buy that car or whatever- one does not get taxed?..
