Here, Armin tells the story of when he was six years old and started school.
To help children who can hardly imagine it today, he shows them various locations in Cologne to illustrate how things looked back then compared to today. The whole country was in ruins.
You can find this post-war factual story, along with other great stories, on DVD in the official Library of Factual Stories shop:

On the DVDs in this series, Armin Maiwald presents all the original factual stories that his film production company produced for "The Show with the Mouse" over the past 40 years and which were broadcast by West German Broadcasting (WDR) on Sunday mornings.
In this channel, you'll find a selection of the many stories that have been filmed over the years. New episodes are constantly being compiled from a virtually inexhaustible and ever-growing archive. All the films are arranged alphabetically, almost like in a library.
All episodes are now available on DVD. You can collect them, give them as gifts, reminisce, and smile.
