I hope to have a relationship where our old cringe ocs can date

I really appreciate how open minded and supportive daidus tends to be towards early artists

She was a Suicide Angel girl, he was a Dark Angel boy.

It’s always either depressed daidus with supportive Emily or angry Emily with calm daidus 😭

They'd actually make such a good couple. He's a fallen angel that an infinite life supply and she initially wants to take that life force but they slowly fall in love and learn to live *together*. THE.👏 ANGST.👏

I love how Daidus immediately suggested that their two OC's date. Super cute... I want fifty pages of fanfic of these two on my desk by Monday

Emily being a chaotic ball of art-rage whilst Daidus is being a monk full of wisdom & forgiveness is such a perfect dynamic lol

I think every middle schooler is also incredibly aware of being cringe but also they want to come across as self aware. They're self-deprecating specifically to avoid other people pointing out their flaws, so they point them out first.

daidus's situation with the drawing books is so real😭 when i wa a kid, i could not keep a drawing book FOR THE LIFE ME

32:52

Emily: So, what'd he do at age 5 to become a fallen angel?
Daidus: He was a baby unintelligible baby noises

Understandable.

Even though she doesn't like it anymore, the 2017 early youtube Emirichu style is super dear to me, LOL. It's nostalgic! I was the biggest Emirichu fan when I was a young lad, and I remember spending actual hours attempting to figure out the core tenets to your artstyle so I could reproduce them. It's why I got into drawing!

When you were 12, you drew Tokyo Mew Mew
When I was 12, I drew you

15:22 In the words of Sonic from "Sonic Boom":

"Kids can be so cruel when they sense weakness..."

Emilys art is actually so good back then! 😭

The little notes always reminds me of how in one of my sketchbooks I have a drawing of one of my characters hitting the 👌🏻 below his waist captioned "got em" and I fall for it... every... time... I open that page.

Omg I understand self deprecation notes! I literally thought I was the only person that did that. I would literally write fail when I would draw something I wasn’t proud of 😭

23:29 it's always so bizarre to me hearing about westerners' childhood experience with anime bc when i was in 5th grade, my entire class used to wear black every friday and called ourselves the Black Knights (from Code Geass), and in 6th grade, we were all into Fairy Tail and would draw the different guild insignias on our hands 😭😭😭 even in my highschool, Nisekoi used to be really popular that ppl actually fought over who was best girl hhdhshh im so sorry to anyone who had to hide your interests as a young kid :( hopefully now you can be as loud as you want !!!!

love how in the beginning, daidus was the one who kept putting himself down for not doing as good as he expected, Emily cheers him up and encourages to keep going. now recently emily is sort of struggling/frustrated and daidus just kept cheering her on and trying to keep her going too 😭😭 yall so cute istg

Damn. Daidus' articulation of why artists, especially at younger ages, constantly shit on their work makes so much sense and applies to other things too, like music. I can remember countless times writing stuff but not being able to play it or have it come out how I wanted because my skill/expertise level wasnt honed/couldn't execute what i was hearing in my head, nor did i know the proper way to explain it.

seeing a new spilled ink video genuinely makes my day

As someone who's seen the OG redraw video too, I can confirm, she does in fact look Emirichu™️
