this movie was actually a HUGE surprise for me. I saw it way after it released, expecting an awful reboot, and instead got a funny adventure movie that gives a nice little nod to the OG while doing its own thing and having a soul.

I love that it wasn’t a remake, but a re-introduction to the world. And the nod to Alan Parrish. Love it. A pleasant surprise and so much fun.

Totally understand the hesitance. I had it too as someone who loved Jumanji as a kid, and I think a lot of other people had the same assumption. They really did it right by not trying to "redo" stuff in the original, make it it's own thing, while still paying respect the the original.

43:13 Y’all, this is why I theorize that Judy and Peter from the original movie will suddenly “remember” Jumanji when the same time arrives that they WOULD HAVE played the game. (It doesn’t have to make a lot of sense — I just want to believe that Judy and Peter will remember the bond they had with Alan and Sarah.)
