We're starting a BRAND NEW REALISTIC CITY in Cities Skylines 2 today! This time, we're back across the pond after spending over a year exclusively on Aethelburg.

We'll introduce the map, show how to start a North American road layout, satisfy utilities, build a historic looking industrial port, and add a little bit of detail.

New Aethelburg or Aethelia. The lore behind this would be that Northland would found the colony of New Northland in the East Coast around 1640, and the subsequent city would be the first trading post

I love how you make static props actually functional. It personally hate when there’s like an entire block of non functional buildings

idea for lore: you could establish multiple small towns all throughout and connect them all later and present it as they were the trading posts of many competing companies like you have with the current industrial area, this could leave to a rivalry that exists between the boroughs of new york

I have some lore for the city. The city was founded by English and Scottish people, but the Englishmen and the Scottish didn’t really like each other that much, so they separated from each other creating to different sides of the city. I suggest that both sides has one distinct downtown, road layout, church and distinct names for the districts in their parts.

Forster, New South Wales Australia. I go camping up there every summer. Such a lovely place. Its known for its Oysters. Forster main beach has a rock pool that would be cool to be incorporated. There is a Hawkes nest look out as well. The lake is called Wallis Lake and is great for fishing and dolphin spotting. The Southern side of the river is Forster and the north side is a place called Tuncurry, The beach on the right hand side is called One Mile beach, as it was once one mile from the og post office.

Earlshep
In the 18th century, somewhere in Canada, the British Earl Edwards founded a settlement named Edwardsbury. Later, sheep breeding began there. The earl left due to its lack of profitability, but the local residents stayed. As a result, instead of the usual name, the town came to be known as “the Earl of Sheep,” and this name eventually became established as Earlshep.I think there are some oddities and inconsistencies here, but overall, I think it’s interesting.Maybe it turned out differently from what I meant because I used a translator.

This is a minor note, but something to emphasize is that if this is a New England/East Coast city, any passenger rail in the modern day would likely be electrified outside of freight rail spurs. Those even might have distinct pylons! I can point you to Philly's rail infrastructure, as well as parts of New York for some fun references.

One of the things I do with alley ways like the ones you have is to not allow them to go straight across the bigger street or to turn left onto or off of them. I would do this to prevent traffic from building up at those smaller intersections.

I actually love those brick factories. I am a huge sucker for the way bricks look in this game.
