The Dutch making fun of other languages, glass house anyone?? 😂😂😂

I am an American with a Swedish Fiancè who will be moving to Sweden in a year or two. My classic car here in the states has the plate RAGGARE, I am getting prepared to embrace the culture 😂 (yes I will be bringing the car with me)

As someone who speaks both Dutch and Swedish, this really is a noteworthy case of pot calling the kettle black.

I think the “American dream” abandoned America and moved to Sweden 😂

As an American who started driving in 1979, I know these cars. As a Californian, cruising Van Nuys Blvd or Santa Monica Blvd was what we did. I love seeing these cars being lovingly taken care of around the world. Great video Ed.

Canadian here; I saw so many of these cars in my youth. They're all gone now, eaten by salt, snow and rust. It's wonderful to see so many immaculate vehicles still on the road!

The ONLY thing wrong with this channel is it's not releasing a video every day. And since I know that's not possible. I will continue to enjoy every video that comes out.
Don't change anything. I know you could get help and put out more videos. But it wouldn't be the same. You are this channel. Keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep watching and enjoying it.

WOW. I'm an American, and I'm impressed.

I´m a "raggare" from gothenburg, follower of ur channel and owner of a Chevy Impala 65 4doors hardtop. I and my friends belong the group of raggare who use the car as a nightclub, but keep the car in good condition and shape. A middle of the road between Pilsnerraggare and "fikaraggare"(as I use to call these Boomers with mintconditon 50th cadillacs).

Back in the early '80s, I hung out at a junkyard in Phoenix that was owned by a man who gathered up old US cars to send to Sweden. These were mainly late '50s Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge top line models, especially convertibles; as well as Lincolns and Edsels. They were largely rust free or close, but were sun baked derelicts that had been in outdoor storage in the desert for many years. They were really crispy and needed full restorations, but the Swedes devoured them, treated them to full restorations, and couldn't wait for his next shipment.

It is not only Sweden's largest, but also Europe's largest when it comes to mainly American, older cars. Some claim that it is the world's largest.
And hey, the drivers of these ‘raggar cars’ are ALWAYS sober.

I am Swedish. It is said that every tenth car in Sweden is a hobby car and of these, there are a lot of old American cars. In that case, there should be 800,000 hobby cars and maybe 400 - 500,000 American ones. So there are lots of them and mostly out in the countryside. What is so fantastic is that many are in extremely good condition. And that it is usually the owners themselves who do almost all the work on them

I grew up in the US of the 1960s and as a teen in the '70s was lucky enough to reach driving age at the height of hot rod and cruise culture.  In fact, thanks to the release of American Graffiti in 1973, cruising enjoyed a massive resurgence in the mid '70s.

My first car in high school was a 1969 Camaro Super Sport with an L78 396, 4.11 posi, Muncie 4 speed, Holley 780 DP, Hurst Comp Plus, etc.  What a beast.  One of my high school friends had a '69 Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet.  We spent most summer Saturday nights cruising the strips, at least until I got a job in my senior year and had to work every Friday and Saturday nights to pay for gas and all of the expenses that came with owning a temperamental hot rod.  

Well, I say cruised, but with a grumpy, hot running, high compression full cam rat motor that did not like stop and go driving and got only 4 mpg of 45 cents per gallon 100+ octane, I did more parking along the strip and watching everyone else go by than actual cruising.

That stuff largely no longer exists in the US.  Many cities and towns began outlawing and shutting down cruising in the late '70s and early '80s and teen car culture became a pale imitation of what it used to be.  A lot of teens aren't even that interested in getting their driver's license now, let alone cruising and hanging out with their friends on the strip.  Many would rather be staring at a screen somewhere.

Oddly enough, some cities now encourage special event cruising.  They organize summer cruise nights and close off streets just for that purpose, but now it's mostly older people who remember the glory days driving their high dollar classics.  Speaking of which, I'd love to have another Camaro like my SS, but a real, numbers matching car like mine would be very rare and far out of my toy car price range.  😭
