You can never get enough of Miles and John McLaughlin
.

listen and learn people "the moment in this record that's worth a mention is when Miles finally lets John go, Go ahead John"

You can really here miles holding john then letting him go. Miles is the man...

I remember listening to this driving through the mountains of upstate NY in 1974. Wow.

I do like Steve Grossman's playing on soprano, it works really well with this period of Miles.

This is an "outtake" album, who would not be happy, to have outtakes like these?

What I love is a jazz guitar with "nasty" tones galore. Bring me the distortion!

I think big fun is a great album. It is in my top 10 Miles albums. I am one who thinks his electric period fusion period really smokes !

Happy 100 b day 2 day,,,,,the magician at work,,,so much out of this world music,,,,the musician who can play any position,,,,,and any style out there,,,,universal touch,,,,,RIP miles,,,,

Love the punching in and out on the drums in the studio..whole album is a master piece..grew up listening to this one. Timeless.

this track is not about guitar playing but about sound and inter acting , the drummer keeps its all together, the bass slow and steady , they are the once who make this track so eminent , so beautiful.

Dam Miles. DOPE AS FUCK

Miles ahead , as always, music soars

The man John McLaughlin 😊

The way the two drum tracks are split-mixed on this track is phenomenal

Reminds me of one of those cool ass dreams i don't want to wakie up from.

incredible rhythmic structure and execution. fantastic guitar. overall the sound is rich and raw . rocks like hell :::::

It is the kind of music which  worms itself around inside my brain and expands it.

This is some serious SHIT, gives me the chills 🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺

Fall of 1994. 21. Bought Big Fun that summer. Endless 2 hour sessions of listening to this track with happy thoughts coursing through my brain as I looked through my dorm room at UC Berkeley. Happy thoughts. Endorphins. Joy. Soaring. Michael Steve Grossman's 3 minute soprano sax solo is the most beautiful soprano sax solo I have ever heard. There's nothing more yearning, more searching, more essential than this. It's the most heart-wrenching, beautiful, genuine solo I've ever heard. One of a kind with the one of a kind Miles Dewey Davis III. And John McLaughlin truly truly goes ahead. Go Ahead John.
