Mikel is describing something that, as fans, we don't have much insight into: Player Power.

I think the name and thumbnail of this video are obviously leading people to believe Mikel is criticising Frank and JT, when actually he's giving fascinating insights into our greatest era, and it's clear he regards both men with a lot of respect. Mikel's an underrated legend of our club, and to think we almost lost him to United.

Drogba scored 29 goals and only one of them was a penalty that season

Mikel just wants Chelsea to do well . I can understand his sentiments .

Remember when "Villas-Boas" did that and Chelsea just dropped into bottom half of the League got him fired and instantly went on an unbeaten run back into the top 4. Criminal Lmao

This confirms how much leadership is important in being successful. People like Terry at Chelsea and Keane at Man U expected commitment at all times and the results were trophy’s at the end of the season.

I was a Bangladeshi fan boy of Chelsea during my childhood and teen days. There was a FIFA friendly arranged between Argentina and Nigeria in Bangladesh back in 2011. While people were looking for Messi, I also kept an eye on John Obi Mikel. He was a fantastic midfielder. He made an assist that day.

Now we've lost 6 games in a row

A story that has made me feel part of the then Chelsea, this Chelsea of today is very very much full of kids who think talent without passion will earn them a thing...

He is talking about things that fundamentally Blue Co and many other owners don't understand and underestimate. A core squad who have played with each other for years and built relationships, setting standards, getting the right type, profile and personality of player not just every high potential wonderkid. They thought you could play Football on a spreadsheet, but even the best Moneyball clubs like Brighton or Brentford understand squad balance and a minimum level of consistency within the dressing room.

It’s said to see how much player identity seems to have changed. We had clubs who had players playing there for years and icons of the club, Lampard, gerrard, Rooney etc. Nowadays it doesn’t feel like there are these long lasting legends to help new young players settle. Chelsea are feeling that now and yet we keep buying a new early 20s player as if that is the issue at the moment. We don’t have the experienced players to build around

Xabi Alonso learnt by a hard way in RM.

He din’t want to say the truth about player power ! It’s still happening today. Man U players did it too it’s amazing how the same players are finishing the season 3rd . At Chelsea they’re on a mission rn , they want the owners out 🤣
