Sorry you faced that. It's so impressive that you sucked it up, did your job well, and showed good humor. Great bloke and top England player!

Love to all Liverpool fans for accepting him & showing him love.

42 England caps. Scored over 100 goals in the league. People forget that's a great achievement when you consider how many people play football .

This is a lesson to us all. Well done Peter for completing a great career through the abuse and having some spectacular moments to remember.
The control and volley from outside the area for Stoke was sensational.

Booed by people because of the way you look? Doesn't get more immature than that. I always like to remember the old saying 'Be yourself...everyone else is taken!' Well done Peter for being yourself.

Men usually get picked on through their lack of height whereas Peter was scorned incessantly because he was tall, like he could help that.

I am a football fan, but some of the worst people in the world are also football fans.

I always thought he was just a great football player. Fantastic first touch and great finisher.

To be fair, I'd argue most of the grief he got on his England debut was due to the fact he was a Liverpool player making his debut at Old Trafford...

They are all adults behaving like that.. those people are childish and disgusting 🤮
