Surprisingly turns out to be quite a heartfelt moment from Piyush, as a fellow Singaporean. We definitely need more of you. I'm a born and raised Singaporean and my grandparents came from China. So your children and their children would contribute as much to Singapore. That's how Singapore has been and will be for a long time. This is what Singapore is, to come together as one, as what George yeo paraphrased from a pope before, we are one, not despite, but because of our differences.

Loved the honest dialogue. "Many go for the sizzle rather than the steak" is the defining thread of this dialog. Piyush has been wearing many hats and that comes from lot of trust Singaporeans have bestowed on him. Geographical borders are human construct, but birds don't care, which Mr. Gupta loves to watch. They fly around the world without any barriers and without passport or citizenship. Best wishes to Mr. Vishwa for excellent questions (lot of research, I guess) and to Mr. Gupta to respond very honestly and being down to earth

I am in the financial services industry and have seen how DBS somewhat lost focus in the late 1990s to the late 2000s. Piyush took over DBS during the global financial crisis and led the DBS to what it is today. I had the pleasure to have interacted with DBS bankers as a corporate customer of the bank in recent years. DBS service is top notch. Kudos to Piyush and the DBS team.

Excellent session that reveals who is the real Piyush Gupta. Controversy has surrounded him at his time at DBS. In my view unjustly. Piyush has been an excellent banker, in fact a real banker as the podcast reveals. The success he delivered for DBS especially expanding to India proves his uncanny ability and leadership to seize the banking opportunity and his Indian roots was definitely an asset in how he got it done. I enjoyed watching and hearing this podcast. He will be hard act to follow at DBS.
