The intercoms die, so the riders are on their own over the northern Rockies and past Muncho Lake. At Liard River Hot Springs Ron takes a ten-dollar bet he probably should not have, and then the wildlife starts showing up all at once: bison on both shoulders of the highway, and a bear tally that keeps climbing. Camp is a slumber party at the 60th parallel.
