This was days that mom and dad had grown folks over and made the children go to bed so they could listen to stuff like this

These were called "party albums". Redd Foxx made a bunch of them in the 1950s and 60s.

This is comedy gold, and especially funny for those of us who grew up with the great show "Sanford & Son."

One of my mother's brothers has actual ALBUMS that feature Lawanda Page (Aunt Esther) on them. And the lady is funny as hell! While you're trying to find cd's, albums of Ms. Page look up Skillet and Leroy as well. They are funny as hell too.

I just want to point out this womans talent as a performer - to be able to keep her cool with that drunk woman in the background and not mess up her performance is a talent only good performers have. She didnt miss a beat and she didnt loose her cool and say anything even though anyone would understand if she did. Instead, she commanded the attention of the audience by being stronger and having more "presence" and just owning the moment and the stage. Much respect.

😮😮 She made me blush a little and that's hard to do......😆😆 I can see how she hooked up with Redd Foxx later in Sanford & Son. Poetry.

This lady was a hell of a performer and comedian. She could do it all. 90's rap used to sample her quotes heavily. that's how you know she was a beast.
