The big pro of the blitzer isn't just the infinite ammo, its the no-reload infinite ammo. There's no downtime with the blitzer, and you can just hold down M1 in any situation and it holds its own against anything but heavy enemies. I love pairing it with the gas dog or hot dog, to help with crowd control with the low rate of fire.

Reliability REALLY needs to make it into AH vocabulary

I feel like removing arc chain damage drop off would give those items a fun niche of being crowd clear monsters with no accuracy or meaningful damage against heavies

something I'd love for an arc weapon or even an offensive stratagem is something that would deliver a continuous stream of arc damage, like the lightning gun from quake or a zappier, thundery version of the orbital laser

Recently been thinking about an idea for an arc pistol that rewards precision. Since the blitzer and thrower both function fairly different from each other(electricity jumping from 1 enemy to the next vs zapping several enemies at once), would be cool to continue this slight variance between each arc weapon's mechanics:
After charge up, fires exactly where you're aiming like an electric laser bolt, but then arcs to the enemies surrounding your target, but does nothing if you don't hit an enemy. Could even be interesting to have it to less damage to the primary target than the surrounding ones. Had the idea while wishing for more chaff clear secondaries that aren't just explosives.

Also cool buff for arc weapons in general would be if getting hit with electricity while currently holding a blitzer, thrower, or potential future arc weapon causes the arc weapon to absorb some of the lightning reducing the damage and rapidly charging up the next shot(or allowing you to fire once without pumping the blitzer).

Blitzer is really consistent if you know when to aim and when not to. Aim to choke it and hit a specific enemy, hip fire to hit multiple enemies in a cone in front of you and walk backwards while firing to handle most hordes. One aimed shot will knock an alpha's head off

Blitzer is straight up one of my favourite primaries to take against bugs in mega cities. Can't have bolts get absorbed by foliage when there's barely any foliage :D
