And it was if 12 members of the POPulation yelled “ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN YAHHHHHH” and were suddenly silenced…

Man no wonder Peter died. He had to carry the ultimate universe on his back for a full decade

Ahh yes, the point where the ultimate universe died and Ultimate Spider-Man was the ONLY thing actully keeping this broken universe alive

13:13 Insurance companies in the Marvel universe would 100% offer supervillain coverage in segmented, individual packages. "Yes, you bought the Rhino package, but he was actually working with the Sinister Six during that attack, so your claim is denied."

That "go ruin Superman" comment from Ethan about Bendis had me dying 😂

New Ultimate Spider-Man back issues: The best birthday present possible

The way Sal explained which ultimate spider-man he was talking about is exactly what I have to do whenever I talk to my partner about it.

I know Jim Shooter just passed away, I think it would be cool to have an episode talking about a story he helped create during his time at Marvel.

37:02 this is the best Back Issues moment in a minute, from the slow realization of the "doesn't kill the user" bit to the Ultimate Nullifier Death Note and Reed's whims it's just so funny lol

I remember that Ultimatum review where Bendis jokingly shouted at Jeph "You killed my Dazzler!"

As someone that worked at a store that had a lot of manga here is a common interaction
“Oh do you have One Piece vol 1?”
“No”
“Is there a way I can order it”
“No”

I think this is the most amount of times Sal has said "manga" in one episode. I definitely see the influences in the story. The simpler art style that emphasizes motion and emotion. The more outlandish comedy. Responsible and useful adult mentors. The flagrant romantic relationship between two pseudo-siblings. It's all there!
I'm kidding. No high school-based manga has useful adult characters.

I kinda love the big "F off Flash" moment because it is so perfect to Ultimate Flash and how he is ALWAYS the worst dude with the worst timing ever, it comes full circle after Pete dies and he goes to school and its empty and he literally realizes he was like the ONLY person who did not know

0:26, I love it when they say something so innocent and Sal has this reaction.

the teenage drama and fresh relatable art was cocaine for me at 13 and its still my favorite era of bendis spider-man

It’s genuinely insane to me how it’s been 8 years since we’ve started the Ultimate Spider-Man journey. I think this is probably my favourite comic book run of all time so it’s been such a blast. Thanks for continuing to cover this guys!! I have such a soft spot for this arc. I hated the art style change when I first read it but by the end of this arc I grew to really love it. There’s plenty of parts that I felt were so well done as well. The weirdness of the Jessica Drew situation, the chameleon arc, and the Jonah arc are all parts I’ll remember forever. We’re getting closer and closer to what I feel is the best death in comics 😭🫡🙏

I remember receiving this book in 3rd grade from my father as the first gift after leaving when my mom found out he had another child one year younger than me. When i read it, i was familiar with ultimate Spider-Man, the original art, some small parts of Ultimatum and remember feeling so thrown off and over the years putting this book together through knowledge of the universe I got so many different ways in different forms of media
