Please love him, PATIENCE,  don't give up on him. Mine is 48yrs.old Had him 38 years.

Hello Spike enjoy you new home

This is a happy story.

He will chew that wooden frame to pieces - they do that in Australia on random  house porches.   Ok you can't use any type of staple on the wire in that wooden cage to be. If you do he is likely to  get one and swallow it and it will kill him.  Esp a bent one that falls on the floor during construction.  THe only safe way to affix the wire will be by using  galvanied tie wire or stainless steel wire which is twisted by plyers and then hammered back flat .  This is why most cages for big parrots are fully welded  to a  steel frame.   If you use any small screws you need to account for every single one or a bird will end up swallowing one.  THe then die of perotinitis.   TE Fider NzL

Saw your video when you brought Spike home. Beautiful bird. I wanted to give you a heads up on one thing. I had a umbrella cockatoo for years. Cleaning his cage one day and it got moved too close to the blinds. I didn't catch it before I left the house. My baby of 20 years who had never touch the blinds before, reached out and tested what they were and broke a piece off. When I returned home he was at the bottom of the cage. He had gotton the piece stuck and choked to death. I made one mistake and I lost my best friend of 20 years. So when I saw the cage near the blinds my heart hurt. So please be careful about blinds,it only take once and there is no do oversee. Been 15 years, and seems like yesterday. Be very careful.

Rehomed too often, please be patient,  loving, they can be difficult,  please  don't give up on him, mine took 2 years working with him, 10 years old, now 48 years. My baby.

Congratulations on your new kid cockatoo! Spike sure is a honey and all of you too! God bless you all. Can't wait to hear what he has to say about all this!

They need a lot of attention and can be loud. Not easy.  Cruel to sit alone all day in cage. I worked at home he wandered around by me carried around.  Very cuddly.

Looks like Spike is happy with his new home... Congrats to your family👍🏻💪🏻💕

Pretty bird. I love cockatoos.

He's gonna be a daddy's bird

I'll check back in after about 25 years to see how you're doing. I'm on my 26th -year with 5 moluccan cockatoos.

Awww hi Spike

You are one with the birds dad, you keep bringing home more and more every week, but Spike is AMAZING!

Congratulations 🎈

So Cute Congratulations.

Omg he is beautiful  so happy for you

I’m so jealous! This is my dream bird, but my husband works from home and it would be just too loud. I want to rescue one when he retires.

They just like to throw stuff.
