I feel like red centipedes and red lizards were probably just a stupid contest between the ancients on who could make a better killing machine.

there's a theory floating around that centipedes are actually biological solar panels and normally would be hooked up to machinery to discharge the charge they accumulate as solar panels, but now disconnected they have to go finding things to discharge themselves upon... like you

Red centiepedes are most likely a entirely separate species due to their unique shells, anatomy, and behavior. I believe they might be a more “primitive” form of the centipedes back when their solar panels were much more mechanically developed and powerful, which could be the cause of their aggression due to constantly frying themselves rapidly. That and their growth seems more unstable, since their size seems unsustainable compared to the other balanced sizes of centipedes.

I think red centipedes have as much armor as others, it's just big so its armor is thicker and actually functions now. If you hit regular centipedes their armor segments fly off just like reds

3:53 I always thought slugs were three feet long (I think I read that somewhere but I could be wrong) so that always made the size of these fucking leggy abominations even more terrifying, if possible

As someone who is stuck on subterranean as survivor, I’ve noticed a funky behavior about centipedes. One time, there were three infants, one mature, and two long bois. As the mature and infants ran off, the adults went zoomin after me. This could suggest that they have maternal instincts, which could also explain why there aren’t as many centipedes as there would be if the parents preferred quantity>quality like a real centipede would.

Another theory is that they legit require parents to care for them. It’s not really surprising since slugcats, scavengers, lizards, and vultures would be able to eat them rent free. But parents are also required to give them food, since it would be physically impossible for them to catch batflies and any meaty foods. But that’s just a theory, a GAME THEORY

This was suprisingly entertaining! Maybe do vultures or lizards?

Wait, water centipides?

1:58 The blue lizard spinning the infant centipede in background is so fucking funny bro😭

9:03 "a single spear from a slUugat" lol

did you know that the king vulture can kill the red centipede?

Slugcats are like, way bigger than cats

Great exploration of the centipede though!

In real world centipedes don't have single brain, they have multiple ganglions

Infant centipedes eat batflies too.

Got 2 red fuckers in filtration system on my surviver run, please send help, they murder everything, including me.

Red Centepides are chads honestly
I mean - they would be actively interested in eating fucking Rot !! - thing that even Red Lizards flee from.
Pebbsi should have seen them in action and let them roam his can.

It's worth noting that centiwings have unique green-colored infants, identical to normal infant centipedes but only located in areas with centiwings.
