Ghost: is chasing me
Me: turns around and starts chasing the ghost
The ghost: no that’s not how you play the game

Step 1: Be an anime protagonist
Step 2: Say she looks cute
Step 3: Earn ghost wife for life (and death)

The onryo is not created by the killer’s rage, but by the victim’s rage.
It’s not a simple flare of emotion, it’s a lifelong anger capped off with gruesome death.

“The Grudge happens when someone dies horrifically. You should stay at home and download Raid Shadow Legends.”

Ah, I see you want to spread the grudge around even more.

"Karen calls her manager"
I'm not sure why I kept laughing at this

I personally liked the sequel's explanation on why this specific curse is so powerful and unstoppable. Basically when Kayako was little, her mother would exorcise demons by feeding them to Kayako. So, when Kayako was killed by her husband, all that dark energy created an evil spirit of a level the world hadn't seen before.

I don’t usually support raid shadow legend sponsors but that transition was so smooth

This movie scared me shitless when I was a little kid. I remember I couldn't sleep underneath my covers for a full 3 months

If I remember correctly, Toshio was a spirit that warns people about the real Onryo, his mother.

You’re screwed as soon as you set foot inside the house. It doesn’t matter what you do after. You could make all the right choices, get out immediately, only to die later in your home or at work or wherever the onryo decides to take you down. Your only real defense against the onryo is to have enough sense or advanced warning to not enter its domain in the first place. Otherwise, you only have two real options: you can take your chances on finding a good enough priest to exorcise the onryo. Or, you use what little time you have left to burn the house to the ground Fahrenheit 451-style and spare others your fate.
