Can we just appreciate the internet for the ability to connect people all over the world over super niche stuff like this.

Whenever people ask "When will I ever use modular arithmetic?" I point to the pushback quarterframes of Super Mario Sunshine.

Here we are, more than 10 years later, and I’ve finally learned why Yoshi manholes are so inconsistent.

I remember being younger and being so confused as to why I would exit a manhole and I wouldn’t fly into the air sometimes! I thought my game was broken!! 10 years later I’m finding out it has to do with pausing

"the key to discovering things in games is noticing that something is different" is actually almost identical to what Ive been taught in university about science. "Making an observation" and realising that it doesnt make sense using what you know is how EVERY scientific law, theory, etc has been made. the "explaining why" is usually far easier than "seeing it" in the first place

Sided "realizes when something's different" Williams

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life and had no idea that the term ‘washroom’ was distinctly Canadian. I feel special now

Talking about weird pausing - when you pause The Sims 3, Sims often proceed to turn their heads slowly for a couple of seconds until they stand still. It's creepy. What's that all about?

Honestly, these videos make me want to get into speedrunning and glitch hunting for this game

I paused this video to think about it and suddenly everything made sense. I think advancing life by 1QF significantly improves cognition

I hope “puh-swaydo” is like, an in-joke pronunciation for pseudo because man lol

"I'll share a brief piece of history on that because after all..... I AM the OG Summoning Salt rip-off guy!" 2:58

So cool! I love the process of understanding how certain mechanics work like this. Watching communities solve mysteries like this in games that have been out for well over a decade is super inspiring - just when you think a game has been fully taken under the microscope, there always seems to be a new discovery to be made.

"PUS-WAY-DOH TUTORIAL" HOLY SHIT

You know a video is amazing when it’s centered around Mario Sunshine and you’re greeted with Pac-Man Collection at the very beginning

instructions unclear; video is paused

I like how you changed to the Yoshi version of the music when you started talking about Yoshi

super mustache PogU

That subtle song change at 5:29 to Yoshi's version with the drums is golden. Thank you for putting this much thought into it, the little details like this are to die for.
