Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy has had one hell of a timeline when it comes to lowering the power cell count from it's intended 77 cells, all the way down to 8. In this video, we'll be taking a look at how speedrunners got past the massive walls the game laid out in front of them.

Special thanks to everyone who helped make this video possible. BobbyKaze, onetabloid, Kuitar, Ruh and more.

these always sound like a documentary on a bank heist, but the stakes are much higher.

It took years of constant research, analysis, and pin-point platforming on invisible obstacles to reach this level of progress. So what's the next logical discovery to make? How to yeet Jak into the fucking sun at mach 10 by getting too close to a bridge that's having a nervous breakdown!

Game Devs: You need over 70 power cores to beat the game.

Speedrunners: 8. Take it or leave it.

Love how at 26:00 Keira is all "You can't cross fire canyon you don't have enough power cells!" and Jak is all "Watch me"

“You can’t cross fire canyon until you collect enough power cells”
Speedrunner: Watch me

i absolutely fucking love how you hype up each key player in the progression of these stories. i have no clue who these people are, yet every time i see you introducing a new speed runner im just internally getting hyped as hell.

14:00 the happiness and excitement in everybody's voices just gave me the biggest grin on my face.

This just shows how much of a technical game Jak 1 was even all the way back as a launch title for the ps2. Still my favorite game of all time

Can crack the code to a theoretically impossible skip, but doesn't know how to activate windows

Way back in the day, when we first learned about the glitch in Kingdom Hearts 1 at the final boss Destiny Islands where you can infinite jump out of bounds, my sister and I had a bit of a gag that doing things like that 'angered the video game gods' - and we feared them.

But seeing stuff like this today, it is clear: The Glitch Hunters are the true gods of video games, and whatever planar beings my sister and I believed in as children would COWER in their presence.
