Just posted a video about the few plug-ins I can actually recommend:

90% of ads i see on youtube are AI slop, i wish i would get plugin ads lol

I’d love a video of producing a track with stock plugins vs paid plugins… to see how much difference there is

The more plugins you get the more you will realize the plugins that come with your DAW are what works best. Not only are they simple to use , but also easy to look at ... Great topic Jon 👍👍

OMG this is perfect!! Well said. What pisses me off is that in every single video, they tweak it so it's louder and of course it sounds better!! You should always compare it before/after on the same rms.

I’m a minimalist in real life. I’m a minimalist in my DAW. You only need one of each. Less clutter, you find things easier and save time. Less distractions equates to more mental capacity for creativity.

most of the people don't know that you don't really need super fancy stuff of studio, most of the elements is just into your MINDSET

Plugin ads are like the music equivalent of the ab cruncher 4000 for fitness.

Nice can’t wait for the next video !!

As a plugin developer I couldn't agree more. Separating what can give you a real advantage from the background noise is work that producers and musicians shouldn't have to dedicate themselves to. The market is saturated with thousands of different interfaces with the same algorithm underneath doing the same thing.

So true! Keep the conversation going, especialy the new producers must heart this.

I wish other were just as honest as you are and not get sold on sponsoring an mediocre plugin.

I appreciate you're vid, man! I must confess that I sometimes feel like I'm so behind because I don't keep up with the latest on the market!

I have a set of "go-to" mixing plugins and virtual instruments I have been using for almost 10 years now and I have no plans on replacing them. What really makes the difference is the kind of song I work on. Not one song sounds the same (at least), no matter how same the tools may be loaded from project to project. It's the execution and arrangement that will spell all the difference on the output. Just realized now (while watching your vid) that the possibilities are really endless with what you can come up with... say, the same tools in a song, be it a virtual instrument or a mix plugin.

For example, I'm still stuck on Ozone 8 and RX-9. My Waves plugins are still running on v9, some v11. LOL! And I still love them!

very true ! thanks man

now this is a good video, thanks for taking out the other one, much love

Good subject to bring up! Its amazing how much is available (and now hear come the AI miracle plugins too)...

I remember looking at a video of film composer Charlie Clouser the other day - saw his screen in the background with one of his sessions. You know how many plug ins his session was crammed with? Almost NONE!
Every channel just had the stock Logic EQ on it - THAT WAS IT.
Million dollar film composer and he's sticking to stock Logic EQ and Gain on his channels.

Does he likely put on a few more later? Probably. But it showed how bare bones it can all be.

Very important and liberating message, thanks!🙌

Hey! Long time subscriber here. Man! I really needed to see this video....I was almost tempted to buy an effects plugin that now I realise I don't really need, I was just seduced by the Black Friday hype as you said. It's the FOMO that drives us to impulsively buy things that we later realise that we didn't need in the first place. Thank goodness I came to my senses and didn't pull the plug. The guilt about spending that money would have gnawed at me for days and months. As always, keep the videos coming and all the best for the mobile studio build. Peace!

❤ Thank I needed this information

Very true !
