i came back here after the contract renewal announcement. watching this video, it is clear why they are in the position theyre in now. they really deserve every bit of success and honor theyve achieved because they did it and even are still doing it with pure heart and hustle, they always stay true to themselves. their consistency and determination are incredible and truly admirable.
i feel grateful for the chance to know seventeen in this lifetime and truly honored to be a carat. while the journey ahead may not be easy, my trust in them is unwavering. wish nothing but the absolute best for seventeen on their next chapter.
see you when i see you seventeen. i wish seventeen would come back with their theatrical concept for the next OT13 comeback since its their core and what made everyone fall in love with them back in the beginning.
When the8 said, “I always believed our success came from luck, but seeing this, there was totally a reason for our success.” Oh, you guys FOUGHT for this — performed like your lives depended on it. Since day one.
The fact that these are all unreleased clips means we are watching these for the first time along with SVT—although for them it’s more on a trip down memory lane. For us Carats, it’s about rediscovering who they are.
The thing that stood out to me the most is that THIS video montage reveals the secret to their success:
1) Because, as Vernon put it, “we performed like our lives were on the line.” What really struck me is that even during the time when they were nobodies from a small, nearly bankrupt company, they were really giving it their all. Maybe it’s that do or die mindset they had back then too: they have nowhere to go but up. Failure isn’t an option when thirteen kids laid their youth (and their future, and their families’ future) on the line. Vernon wasn’t really exaggerating. It’s not just their passion back then that stood out, but their earnestness, that fierce determination to give it their all even if it’s just for an audience of one. The number of audience didn’t matter to them; what mattered the most was the end result, the quality of their performance. And it is always SEAMLESS, near perfection.
2) And because as is also apparent in the ways they’d have fun and goof off and just do all sorts of crazy stuff in between their practices—they genuinely love what they do. They genuinely love performing, they genuinely love being an idol. They don’t just put their hearts into it—it is their heart. This isn’t just work for them, or a paycheck—although of course it is, at the end of the day, it’s their livelihood—but this really is what they love to do.
They perform like their lives were on the line—and they were happy to do so.
This really is the secret to the success of SEVENTEEN.
“We performed like our lives were on the line” that’s how they got this far. So proud of Seventeen. This shows how much they derserve everything they have now. 🥹
27:28 hoshi: “jihoon made all of this” “it’s still a masterpiece until now”
woah we finally see the original version of pretty u. Woozi once said it was actually made by combining two songs that were both considered for the title track. it’s amazing how a literal teenager made it. WOOZI U ARE SO TALENTED
The way they are proud of their staffs really shows that how staffs worked behind them and with them for their success.... Their gratitude is what makes them stands out as SVT...
I don’t know why I’m suddenly emotional watching this 🥺 I remember the days when SEVENTEEN were just “those self-producing rookies” practicing in tiny rooms with barely any budget, uploading random dance practices and skits on YouTube and now here they are… reacting to their OWN legacy. Like do you realize how far they’ve come? From filming on shaky cameras to headlining domes and stadiums, from being overlooked to becoming the standard for teamwork, talent, and humility also becoming an inspirations to lots of idols.
Watching them laugh at their past selves, seeing how proud yet humble they still are… it really hits different. They didn’t get handed anything — they built everything. Every step, every mistake, every laugh, every fall — it led them here.
I’ve never been more proud to stan anyone in my life. SEVENTEEN isn’t just a group. They’re proof that hard work, genuine brotherhoodand staying true to yourself will take you all the way. 🥹💎
Here’s to even more memories, more milestones and more moments like this. Forever and always, SEVENTEEN 🩷🩵 lets meet again on your 20th anniversary reaction video.
