Imagine you leave home and return to find your wife married your wives 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This man makes me gag in disgust. I feel sorry for both OG and current FL. the OG female lead suffered from the expectations of her time while the current FL was a modern life that had to swallow her pride to survive in the period. Imagine going from a world where women can do whatever to bowing your head and going over obstacles cause your husband can cheat on you and say sorry later and people will find it fixed. I pray his children arent there on the MLs death bed 🙏. Maybe they should get busy with more "important" matters like he was. (Cough cough sticking his cucumber in womens cabbages). The gossipy emperor is killing me

It's genuinely one of those stories you could just keep watching. I want to see more of their lives, the kids grow up and continue to be their mother's biggest support. It's a truly good story.

I was wheezing watching this because this man got back from the border and realized his legitimate wife rizzed his concubines and felt like a stranger to his own children. It is slow paced and not very dramatic but still a good watch

This is one of the most realistic depictions of a story like this that I've seen so far. Really very impressed. I also liked the actor for the husband, his acting was very natural and not too theatrical, big plus that his hair isn't lifted four metres above his head. Good watch all around.

This is a super grounded story. A second watch for me. Probably one of the closest portrayals you'll see of historical life. ML is your standard concubine having man with 0 boundaries. FL is someone from the modern world who is forced into these conventions. There's no straying from historical conventions here. Actor playing ML doesn't always play the most noble roles but he's still really good at them. He makes what would truly be a super hateful man for modern eyes, a smidge more tolerable. His acting truly is better than most chinese actors I've seen.

LEAVE THAT MAN!!! All he ever cares about is himself and the fact that no one gaf about him anymore.

"It would be better to be the wife's concubine!"  One of my favorite moments. Also every moment between the ML and his mother in law. Also when the emperor reflects on why he values the general. Also when the women pick a husband for the latest concubine--so funny, kind, and full.of grace. There's really almost no end to my list of favorite moments (the relationships between the children). I'm watching for a third time. As someone else observed, it's so grounded. But it's also funny and sharp.

The first time i watched this i was mesmerized with how focused this drama was and the women had each other ,the fl was strong ,second time i watched it i was wishing they make another good drama like this,3rd time I'm watching it i wish the so called ml would die in battle 😂😂

This was one of the best I watched. It flowed so smoothly I didn't skip a scene. My eyes were glued to the screen. And not because of action or explosive drama. It is definitely a comfort watch. It teaches and relaxing to me. Simply perfect.
