Shocker stopped his banter real quick. Dude was legitimately running for his life.

I love how his voice slowly gets more sinister and sounds a lot like venom, awesome

Keep in mind that both the symbiote suit and shocker will be in Spider-man 2 PS5. There's an opportunity.

Its nice to see the villains realize how outclassed they are when Spiderman stops being nice.

1:49   Shocker be like:   "C'mon man, I'm just a C-class villain.  What's with the hate?"

"SHOCKERRRRRRRR‼️" my man had shocker sweating under his suit😭

1:23 “And I’m going to tear you limb from limb!” Always loved that line

1:44 He talks like Shocker broke Gwen's back, punched Aunt May in the face, broke Black Cat's legs, killed Ms. Marvel, shot Uncle Ben, ate Mary Jane in 2 ways, hugged Paul, and blew up Midtown High

Edit: About the "killed Ms. Marvel" line...

Cristopher Daniel Barnes did absolutely amazing with the symbiote voice. It’s so crazy and sarcastic and over the top, and I love it.

Interesting, this was the first iteration where the symbiote had an impact on his personality, it wasn't shown like this in the comics and this has stood the test of time as the definitive symbiote experience in all media since.

This is literally the birth of bully maguire

Interesting fact: the first time the symbiote influences him in the series is when he is fighting the construction workers and he is persuaded he is simply defending himself, subtle genius.

Fun fact: the whole "symbiote makes you bad" thing was never in the comics. That was something that Stan Lee came up with specifically for this show (he wrote the first part of the Alien Costume three-parter). In the comics, it was actually the host that influences the symbiote. The reason Spider-Man got rid of it is because he found out that it was living off him, which disgusted him.

The head tilt when he said "You're the main course" was subtle but really added another touch to how scary Spidey got with the symbiote.
I think for a lot of us, this show was our introduction to the symbiote/black suit, and they did an excellent job on all fronts.

1:48 this scene always weirded me out, because the way Shocker moves always made me think he was the one screaming those lines. XD

1:43 “let me tell it to you straight. I am **title card**”

This version of Peter’s black suit was a true menace to society

2:03 "The check's in the mail, baby!!!" 😈

“The checks in the mail baby “ just gets me every time

I love how Shocker is so freaking scared, he had to blow a hole in a wall to escape through just because he doesn’t want Black Spidey’s smoke. Also, I love that last line: “The check’s in the mail, baby!” XD

1:36 the iconic look of "oh FUCK THIS MAN! RUN!"
